NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – The NYPD helped bring a New Yorker into the world Friday—on the steps of a precinct stationhouse.

A 29-year-old Bronx woman went into labor around 10:15 a.m. Friday and rushed to the 41st precinct stationhouse for help.

Three officers helped her deliver the baby boy right on the front steps of the stationhouse.

After the little guy was in his mother’s arms, they rushed both of them to Lincoln Hospital to get checked out.

Doctors say the mom and baby are doing well.

“If a baby is born on the steps of a precinct, does that make him an honorary cop?” the NYPD tweeted along with photos of the little guy.
