HUDSON FALLS, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- A 12-year-old girl who was the subject of an AMBER Alert has contacted her family, and is safe.

Malaya Johnson was abducted near Oak Street in Hudson Falls around 3 p.m. Wednesday and had last been seen in the area of the Staten Island ferry Thursday around noon, police said.

The NYPD says she made contact with her family on Friday morning.

The red Ford Mustang she was seen getting into after school was recovered by the NYPD and two men were taken into custody on Staten Island, 1010 WINS' Samantha Liebman reported.

Johnson was taken under circumstances that led police to believe she was in "imminent danger of serious physical injury or death."

George Torres, 19 of the Bronx, has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Washington County Sheriffs Office at (866) NYS-AMBER or dial 911 to provide information.

Hudson Falls is about 200 miles north of the city.
