NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The company that owns the Mandalay Bay hotel and the Route 91 Harvest festival venue, the sites of the Las Vegas mass shooting that killed 58 people in October, is suing more than 1,000 victims.

MGM Resorts International claims that their security vendor took all necessary safety precautions prior to the festival and during the chaos of the shooting, as approved by the Department of Homeland Security.

According to MGM, because of the adequacy of their festival security, they have zero liability in any of the injuries or deaths that resulted from the mass shooting carried out by Stephen Paddock, 64, from his 32nd floor hotel room.
