NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- There was no winning ticket last night meaning the Mega Millions jackpot will only continue to grow.

The winning numbers drawn Tuesday night were 3, 45, 49, 61, 69 and Mega Ball 9. When no ticket was found to have all six numbers, the jackpot gre to the second-largest lottery prize in U.S. history.

The next Mega Millions drawing will take place on Friday with an estimated $868 million up for grabs.

Meanwhile, the Powerball jackpot drawing will happen on Wednesday night with an estimated $345 million.

The two combined jackpots combined soared to over $1 billion. The record lottery jackpot was a $1.6 billion Powerball prize won in January 2016.

It costs $2 to play the game, but the odds of winning the jackpot aren't good. The chance of matching all six numbers and taking home the grand prize is one in 302.5 million.

Mega Millions is played in 44 states as well as Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
