NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Rapper Meek Mill reminded America to 'Stay Woke' last night at the BET Awards with the debut of his latest song that preaches against police brutality and the faults in the judiciary system.

The song, which features Miguel, was Mill's first since his release from prison back in April.

The performace began with the stage set up like a street corner in Philadelphia, with children and teens bustling around. The scene also included adults reading newspapers with headlines that read 'Trump Supports NFL's New National Anthem Policy' and '17 Year Old Teen Killed By Local Police Officer Ruled as Homicide'.

As the song progressed, performers dressed as police officers rushed on stage and starting arresting people. At one point, a child performer ran out from behind a newstand and enacted being shot amid the chaos as her mother watched in horror.

"How can I pledge allegiance to the flag, when they killing all our sons, all our dads?"Meek Mill sang as the scene played out.

Meek Mill got a standing ovation as he stood alongside men dressed as prisoners.

The performance received a huge reaction on social media, with Kevin Hart and Charlamagne Tha God showing their support.

Mill wore a sweatshirt that paid tribute to late rappers XXXTentacion and Jimmy Wopo during the performance.
