Chick-fil-A manager changes tire for World War II veteran in need

Hearing the phrase "My Pleasure" can only mean one thing--Chick-fil-A. The nationwide fast-food chain is known for its efficient service and extremely kind staff, so it's no surprise a store manager took time out of his day to help a veteran in need.

The customer known as "Mr. Lee" by employees was pulling into the Chick-fil-A in Severn, Md with a nearly flat tire. The 96-year-old World War II veteran went inside and approached the counter to ask for help.

"He was shaking, almost in tears saying he barely made it to the store on three tires," said Rudy Somoza, one of the restaurant's managers. It was then that Daryl Howard, another manager on shift jumped into action.

Within about 15 minutes Howard had changed and fixed Mr. Lee's tire.

Somoza took a photo of what he called an "action of kindness." He originally captured the moment to share in a team member-only group, hoping to keep the rest of the staff motivated.

"There's always room for improvement, there's always someone who's gonna need help. We're always here to serve," said Somoza. "I just wanted to recognize his action. He's not being paid for it, he's just naturally a nice guy."

When he shared the photos with everyone, he also posted it along with a Bible verse: "John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
