Man who robbed LI store with hunting knife sought by Suffolk police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Suffolk County detectives are seeking to identify and locate a man who they say robbed a store in Copiague last month.

Officials say on November 5, at approximately 10:15 p.m., the suspect entered Venom Smoke Shop, located at 1002 Montauk Highway, and brandished a hunting knife.

The suspect then threatened store clerk with it and demanded cash.

The employee gave the suspect an unknown amount of cash from the register before he fled the scene.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

Police urge anyone with information to contact Suffolk County Crime Stoppers to submit an anonymous tip by calling 1-800-220-TIPS.
