Man wearing Halloween mask sought in Washington Heights shooting

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- It was a violent Halloween on New York City streets.

Police are trying to track down a gunman who wore a Halloween mask in Washington Heights near West 163rd at 2 a.m. Thursday.

A 17-year-old girl was hit twice in the torso and a 23-year-old man was struck three times in the leg, chest and groin. Both are listed in critical, but stable, condition.

This followed five shootings and three stabbings earlier around the city.

A 14-year-old boy was shot in the face outside a Dallas BBQ on Nostrand Avenue at around 4:30 p.m. in East Flatbush. Police believe that shooting was gang related.

Three hours later and about a mile away, a 17-year-old boy was shot in the leg.

Meanwhile, a gunman in Manhattan shot a 22-year-old man in the leg outside the Jefferson Houses on Third Avenue near East 115th Street. The victim was taken to Harlem Hospital.

At around 6:40 p.m., a 29-year-old man was shot in the leg on Archer Avenue and Parsons Boulevard in Queens. Police arrested the suspect.

In the Bronx, a 37-year-old woman was hit in the leg by a stray bullet after a gunman fired into a crowd at Third Avenue and Courtlandt Avenue just after 8 p.m. Police arrested a suspect and recovered a gun a block way.
