NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A man was gunned down Monday in front of the same Bronx apartment building where he was accused of dumping the naked bodies of two prostitutes 15 years ago.

Jerodd Watkins, 38, was found dead in the driver’s seat of his SUV Monday evening outside the Murphy Consolidation Houses at East 178th Street and Boston Road in West Farms, according to police.

Someone fired at least three shots through the window of the SUV before taking off into the night, police sources told the Daily News.

Watkins' life came to an end at the building where the naked bodies of two prostitutes were discovered in separate incidents in January and August of 2004.

Watkins got six years on a manslaughter charge in the killings.

He was released from prison but got more jail time in 2012 for a federal drug dealing charge.

He was arrested yet again this past summer for threatening to kill his mother-in-law with a gun.

Now police at the 48th Precinct are trying to figure out if a link to the 2004 slayings led to Watkins' assassination or if it was possibly related to his drug dealing.
