NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- He was there for an eye procedure, but claims a nurse was focused on a different body part.

A man has accused a nurse at Staten Island University Hospital of groping his genitals last spring during what was supposed to be a routine operation.

Franklin Tracey, 56, says he suffered deep personal trauma, distress, and anxiety after he was repeatedly groped by Theresa Herring, 67, during a glaucoma procedure.

Tracey filed suit against Herring and the hospital, claiming Herring placed gauze pads on his genitals as he lay on a gurney and squeezed them as she placed drops in his eyes. He said she also told him to leave his gown open in the back because, 'air needed to circulate.'

Herring wouldn't comment, but the hospital told the Staten Island Advance, 'the well being of our patients is our top priority.'
