Man rapes, robs woman after breaking into Bushwick apartment: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police released a video early Thursday of a man accused of raping and robbing a woman after breaking into her Brooklyn apartment.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec, 18, police say the suspect used a brick to break a window and enter into a basement apartment located on Central Avenue and Madison Street in the Bushwick section.

Officials say the 22-year-old resident was awakened by the noise, observed and confronted the suspect who then forced her to the bedroom where he proceeded to rape her.

The suspect then took the victim's Samsung S9 cellphone and containing her credit cards and $65 cash and fled in an unknown location.

EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim Interfaith Hospital, were she was listed in stable condition, and subsequently treated and released.

Authorities describe the suspect as a black male, in his mid-20s, approximately 5'8" tall, weighing 150 lbs., with a thin build and a full beard.

He was last seen wearing blue Adidas sweatpants with white stripes, a multi-colored hooded winter jacket, a black hooded sweatshirt, black sneakers and a light blue crocheted cap.
