Man found fatally shot in East Harlem housing complex

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police are investigating after a man was fatally shot in the hallway of an East Harlem housing complex Wednesday night.

Just after 7 p.m., authorities were called to the eighth floor of a building in the James Weldon Johnson Houses on E. 115th St. near Park Ave.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an unconscious and unresponsive 44-year-old Richard Robayo with a gunshot wound to the head.

EMS was pronounced dead at the scene.

There are no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

Robayo was a suspected drug dealer according to a report from the Daily News.

"He was a dealer. He dealt coke and dope to a lot of people in the development," neighbor Josie Morales told the Daily News. She added, "It must have been a robbery. No one would do this to him. He was such a humble guy."
