NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- It's never a good idea to fall asleep on a subway train.

A man who fell asleep on the number 2 train in Brooklyn on Thursday woke up with a screwdriver in his head.

The 29-year-old sleeping straphanger was attacked at around 2 p.m. on the number 2 train. He was stabbed in the head and arm, police said.

The stabber also stole $300 from the victim.

A man who takes this train every day told 1010 WINS' Glenn Schuck he had felt safe but now "it's something you need to think about."

The victim was treated at King's County Hospital.

Police said the attack was unprovoked and random. The suspect remains at large.
