NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man entered a Tribeca police station Tuesday to confess to the murder and dismemberment of a 58-year-old woman in 2014.

Ricky Gonzalez, 34, told authorities that he fatally stabbed 58-year-old Maria Quinones inside their Bushwick apartment after the two fought over money.

He admitted to then dismembering her body and disposing of it in the garbage.

Gonzalez, who now resides upstate, was arrested after his confession.

It’s unclear why Gonzalez confessed to the murder four years later. At the time of his confession, Quinones’ remains were unable to be located.

The investigation will remain ongoing.

Gonzalez is charged with murder and concealment of a human corpse.
