38-year-old man shot to death in Brooklyn, gunman on the run

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 38-year-old man has died after being shot in the torso in Brooklyn, Friday morning, police confirm.

Officials were called to 183 Herzl Street in the Brownsville section at 10:22 a.m.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered the victim laying unconcious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The victim was rushed to Brookdale hospital in critical condition, but later died.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the man was involved in a dispute with the gunman, who police say fled the scene after firing the gun.

Officials believe he may have ran into a nearby building.

Police are canvasing the area and an investigation is ongoing.
