The 35-year-old woman was walking near Kissena Park on the night of July 26 when she was approached by the man, who asked her several times in Mandarin to “be my friend,” police said.

The woman asked the man to leave her alone, but he continued to follow her for more than 10 blocks to Elm Avenue and 149th Street, where he pushed her to the ground, according to police.

The man then put his hands around her neck and punched her in the face before saying, “I want to kill you.”

The suspect then put his hands inside her pants and began to pull them down, police said, but the woman hit him with her phone, and he ran off.

The woman suffered bruises and scratches to her body but refused medical attention, according to police.
