Man arrested for DWI following fatal pedestrian crash on Long Island

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A man that struck and killed a pedestrian was arrested by Suffolk County Police on Monday for driving while intoxicated.

Eric Lindemann, 33, was driving southbound on Ocean Avenue in a 2018 Kia when he veered off the roadway and onto the shoulder, striking Amanullah Aman, 64, outside of his Ronkonkoma residence at approximately 11:40 a.m.

Aman was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Major Case Unit detectives charged Lindemann with Driving While Intoxicated.
