NYPD seeks man accused of attacking, stealing thousands from woman, 88, in East Village

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) --  Police released a video on Thursday, of a man accused of attacking and stealing thousands of dollars from an 88-year-old woman in her Manhattan apartment.

As Maximina Osorio was coming home from shopping near East 10 and Avenue D in the East Village, on September 14, at 11:45 a.m., the suspect grabbed her from behind, pushed her through the doorway and to the ground, police say.

Police say the suspect then asked her, "Where's the money?" The victim told the him that her money was in her bedroom, in a drawer.

The suspect removed $5000 cash that she had saved up to buy a headstone for her late husband's grave and fled the location officials say.

The victim sustained neck and back pain and EMS transported her to Beth Israel Hospital, where she was treated and released.

Police released a video of the suspect, who is described as an adult male, Hispanic, light complexion, 160 pounds, approximately 5'8" tall, with a full beard.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue hoodie, blue t-shirt, white sneakers, backpack and a black and blue Philadelphia Flyers baseball cap.
