Man, 61, found critical following Brooklyn hit-and-run

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 61-year-old man was hospitalized after being struck and dragged by a vehicle in Brooklyn early Monday.

Police found the victim laying on the ground at approximately 2 a.m. near the corner of Broadway and Putnam Avenue in Bushwick.

Officials say the victim was struck and dragged by a Jeep before it drove away from the scene.

The victim was taken to Woodhull Hospital with serious injures. 

After further investigation, officials determined that the victim had already been lying on the ground at Broadway when he was struck by the vehicle. 

Police have not made any arrests and currently, it is not known why he was lying on the ground.
