LOS ANGELES (1010 WINS) -- Actor Luke Perry suffered a "major" stroke at his Los Angeles-area home Wednesday, TMZ reported

A subsequent report by TMZ, citing "sources connected" Perry, claimed the actor had been put in a medically-induced coma, but his publicist Arnold Robinson told 1010 WINS Thursday afternoon that the report is "not true."

Perry, 57, -- who starred in the 1990s TV series "Beverly Hills, 90210" and currently plays Archie Andrews' dad in the current CW hit "Riverdale" -- became ill at his home in Sherman Oaks, before paramedics responded and he was taken to a hospital.

A rep for the Ohio-born actor said he is currently under observation at the hospital.

Also on Wednesday, Fox announced it will reboot "90210," on which Perry played heartthrob Dylan McKay.
