Bachelorette parties no longer welcome at some LI wineries

FREEPORT, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- There's a certain kind of business they don't want at the vineyards on the east end of Long Island -- rowdy bachelorette parties.

Some vineyards are now banning such parties on the grounds that they tend to ruin the quaint atmosphere. As one visitor put it, you don't want girls in tiaras running around in those fake white veils.

“I think you should be able to choose who comes into your establishment,” wine patron Giro LaRocca told CBS2. “You don’t need drunk and disorderly ruining the time for others.”

At some wineries the ban extends to groups that are not bachelorette parties, but get drunk and crazy anyway. Those groups can be hit with a fine of $20 a head.
