LISTEN: Mike Francesa Talks To 1010 WINS About Return To WFAN

April 27, 2018 - 9:50 am

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Mike's on...his way back to the WFAN airwaves.

Longtime sports radio host Mike Francesa will be returning to WFAN on Tuesday May 1. The 'Mike's On' radio show will run weekdays from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. according to an announcement from Entercom, CAA Sports, and Francesa himself.

The partnership will include a mobile app and online destination called -- you guessed it -- 'Mike's On.' The online platform will offer exclusive online video streaming of the weekday program.

“We are excited about this partnership with Mike and CAA Sports,” said David Field, President and CEO, Entercom.  “We are proud of the terrific lineup on WFAN and are looking forward to bringing Mike back into the mix in this new, multiplatform and innovative way.”

“After exploring several options, this partnership with CAA Sports and Entercom was the perfect fit,” said Francesa.  “This partnership allows me the chance to return to WFAN and all of our loyal listeners, as well as significant opportunities, including the app and live events, that are completely new. I look forward to working with both companies on making this a very successful venture.”

Francesa took some time to speak with 1010 WINS' Sonia Rincon about his return to sister station WFAN.

"I really never thought I would be back at FAN for a minute," he said.

Francesa said the app was instrumental in bringing him back to WFAN.

"The best way to promote it and to really coordinate the different platforms and media was to come back and do a regular show," he said.

In addition to missing the Fan, Francesa said he also missed the fans.

"I really, it was, I did miss the fans a lot," he said. "Everywhere I went the fans all urged me to come back. I love my relationship with the fans. I think I have as good a relationship with the audience as anybody's ever had."

When the NFL season kicks off, so too will 'Mike's Football Sunday' which will appear on the app. The app will also provide 'exclusive audio and video archival content of Francesa' from throughout his 30 year career at the Fan.

The app will be available for download this summer, and a subscription option will be available for fans looking for additional content.
