March 30, 2019 - 2:43 pm

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A police chase on the Long Island Expressway Friday night ended with a crash and an arrest.

The Nassau County Police Department says one of its highway officers tried to pull over a man who was driving on the shoulder heading east near exist 37 in Plainview.

The driver didn’t stop, however, and police say he deliberately hit another police cruiser twice that came to provide backup, eventually hitting a barrier and overturning on the highway.

The driver was identified as 39-year-old Min Quio Lin of Ontario, Canada and he and a male passenger were taken to a hospital for non-life-threatening industries.

The officer was fine.

Lin is facing multiple counts of assault as well as reckless endangerment and unlawful fleeing among other charges.
