NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Long Island Pizzeria owner has become the 11th person to die under mysterious circumstances while vacationing in the Dominican Republic.

Authorities confirmed that 56-year-old Vittorio Caruso died on June 17 but officials in Dominican Republic are denying any foul play.

Caruso's brother Frank, told 1010 WINS that they won't have any more answers as to what happened until later  in the day, when they are expecting the autopsy results to come in.

"When my brother-in-law left for the Dominican Republic, we fully expected him to return home happy and rested,' Said Caruso's sister-in-law in an email. "Instead, he will be returning in a body bag".

The FBI is now assisting authorities as another family looks for answers.

Caruso was scheduled to return to New York June 27, and is among three tourists in the past month and at least 11 in the past year who died while on vacation in the Dominican Republic.
