SOUND BEACH, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- A Long Island man is accused of running a prostitution ring out of his parents' basement.

Raymond Rodio, 47, faces sex trafficking charges.

Suffolk County DA Tim Sini says if the women didn't comply, they were punished.

"Either with physical violence or by threatening to withhold drugs from them which would result in suffering," he said.

Sini accused Rodio of setting up dates with men in the basement or at area hotels. He said Rodio often kept the money and supplied the women with heroin and crack cocaine instead.

His parents also lived in the house on Lower Rocky Point Road.

"There's some indication that they were aware that something 'untoward' was going on, but they're not charged with any crime," he said.

Sini said Rodio trafficked as many as 22 women. He is now behind bars on $2 million bond.
