NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police arrested a knife-wielding man accused of entering a home on Long Island and threatening a 9-year-boy and his mom.

Police say 43-year-old Gregory Davidson entered the Uniondale home located on Liberty Street through an unlocked kitchen door on Sunday morning.

He then grabbed a knife from the kitchen and pulled the 9-year-old boy from his room, according to police.

Davidson dragged the boy to the basement with the knife to his neck, then threatened the child's life in front of his 43-year-old mother, demanding "sexual conduct" from her, police said.

The victim's husband later woke up and Davidson fled.

Police say no one was injured in the incident and Davidson kicked a 64-year-old woman earlier that day, and attempted to take her purse.

The victim suffered a shoulder injury.

Shortly after, Davidson also tried to enter another home in Southern Parkway but fled after he set off an alarm, officials said.

Davidson faces multiple charges including attempted robbery, attempted burglary, kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment and possession of a weapon.

He's expected to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Monday.
