Innocent bystander fatally shot in head at Brooklyn handball court

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 53-year-old man was found fatally shot in the head at a Brooklyn handball court Sunday night, police said.

The man was found shot to the head at about 5:45 p.m. inside Lincoln Terrace Park off Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights officials said.

He was pronounced dead on the scene. His identity was not immediately released by authorities.

According to investigators, the man was an innocent bystander that was caught in the crossfire of two nearby groups in the park, police said.

It’s unclear what caused the dispute between the two groups.

No arrests were made as of late Sunday. An investigation is ongoing.
