NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- IKEA, the Swedish furniture giant will open a 115,000-square-foot store in Queens, summer 2020, the company announced Tuesday.

The store will be located at the Rego Center shopping mall and will be the first in Queens and IKEA's third location in New York City.

"With a growing community of more than 900,000 households, Queens was a natural next destination for IKEA in New York City" Leontyne Green Sykes, chief operating officer of IKEA Retail U.S., said in a statement.

IKEA chose the Rego Center location in order to make the store accessible to Queens residents using public transportation, according to Sykes.

The mall, which is located at Queens Boulevard and Junction Boulevard, is near the E, M and R subway lines.

Manhattan's first IKEA store opened in April on the Upper East Side.

The store will include thousands of IKEA products for purchase, home delivery, assembly and installation.

They will also offer a brand-new food offering.
