NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Over 200 dogs were rescued from what authorities described as a hoarding situation in New Jersey.

Around 8 a.m. Tuesday, Monmouth County SPCA and St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center were called in to a house in Hunterdon County.

Authorities say the animals were in deplorable conditions and had little to no human contact or veterinary care.

It is unclear yet if the owner of the property will face charges.

The organizations are asking for donations to help the dogs with medical care expenses on Facebook and via mail.

Some of the dogs, they report, are pregnant, and have infections.
