Tuesday's temps are expected to hit a high of 89, with sunny skies.  It's muggy in the morning but by afternoon, the humidity is going to be way down, said AccuWeather's Dean DeVore.

Temps will drop into the 60s Tuesday evening.

Heat advisories were issued Monday as temps soared into the mid-90s. It was so hot Monday that schools around the Tri-State closed early.

In New Jersey, Hackensack, Jersey City, and John P Holland Charter schools closed early. Schools in Danbury, Connecticut closed early as well. New York City schools did not.

"I believe it, I mean the city's pretty big so we produce a lot of pollution," he said.

Nannies in Hamilton Park were trying to keep kids cool -- the splash pad was becoming a very popular place.

"We're just gonna stay inside and we're also gonna probably go to the splash pad a little later on," one woman said.
