NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — With heat stroke being a serious concern, the city isn't taking any chances with this weekend's extreme heat -- temperatures will hover close 100 degrees and feel even hotter. It's opening cooling centers, extending the hours of pools, beaches, and libraries, and  making hydrants, playground sprinklers and splash showers more accessible.
