NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Hillary Clinton took to Twitter Sunday after the Justice Department wrapped up a years-long inquiry into accusations of corruption by her and the Clinton Foundation without filing charges.

“This week, the Justice Department determined that the lies that were peddled about me, my family, & @ClintonFdn are without merit,” she tweeted Sunday afternoon. “I couldn’t be more grateful to everyone that stuck with us while we continued to focus on the work. Let’s keep going.”

Utah’s U.S. Attorney, John Huber, had been looking into the Clintons since November 2017 at the request of former AG Jeff Sessions. President Trump and Republican allies had urged the inquiry.

Among the things the inquiry was looking at: the Clinton Foundation’s ties to the sale of the company Uranium One, as well as the FBI’s probe of Clinton’s private email server during her time as former President Obama’s secretary of state.

Although the DOJ has not formally closed the review, officials couldn't find enough evidence to support a criminal investigation and things are winding down, officials say.

“Current and former officials said that Huber has largely finished and found nothing worth pursuing,” officials told the Washington Post.
