Gunman arrested in connection to fatal shooting at Brooklyn playground

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) --​ ​​​​​​A suspect is in custody in connection with a Brooklyn block party shooting in July that left one man dead and 11 other people wounded, police said Wednesday night.

20-year-old Kyle Williams of Brooklyn was arrested on murder and others charges related to the shooting that occurred in the Brownsville Playground according to NYPD Chief of Detective Dermot Shea. 

Williams was charged with second degree murder, attempted murder, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment. 


Police say Williams is a gang member who got into a fight with an alleged rival gang member.

Earlier this month, the NYPD offered $20,000 for information about the shooting.
