Group Says Boston’s Faneuil Hall Should No-Longer Be Named For Slave Owner

BOSTON (1010 WINS) -- Some people in Boston are demanding that the name of Faneuil Hall be changed because it's named after a slave owner.

Kevin Peterson of the New Democracy Coalition sent a letter to Mayor Marty Walsh saying that for African Americans in Boston, Faneuil Hall stands as an affront to their civic sensibilities.

Peterson wants the building to be renamed after Crispus Attucks, a black man killed during the 1770 Boston Massacre, and considered the first casualty of the American Revolution.
