NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The first Manhattanhenge of the year is coming.

The phenomenon happens when the setting sun aligns with Manhattan's street grid.

The American Museum of Natural History says half the sun will align at about 8:13 p.m. Tuesday and the full sun will align with the grid at about 8:12 p.m. Wednesday.

The best viewing will be on clear cross streets such as 14th, 23rd, 34th, 42nd and 57th streets.

Another good viewing spot is on the waterfront in Long Island City.

If you miss it, Manhattanhenge returns July 12 and 13.
