Girl, 6, choked with scarf by 3 boys on Long Island school bus: Report

YAPHANK, N.Y. -- A six-year-old girl was hospitalized on Long Island Tuesday after three boys on her school bus pulled on her scarf from behind and began choking her, News 12 Long Island reports. 

The youths were on the Longwood Central School District bus heading home from Charles E. Walters Elementary School when the incident ocurred. 

According to the report, the choking prompted the girl to fall to the ground. The bus driver then pulled over and opened the girl's jacket to ensure she was breathing.  911 was then called.

She spent the night at Stony Brook University Hospital, where she was treated for unknown injuries.

News 12 Long Island reports that the school is reviewing video footage from onboard the bus and interviewing students.
