NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Soccer enthusiasts fanned out all over New York City after France won the 2018 FIFA World Cup Sunday.

The showdown in Moscow between Croatia and France ended just after 12 p.m. and French soccer fans erupted in applause throughout Midtown.

1010 WINS’ Roger Stern followed a huge crowd as they packed into Rockefeller Center, where bleachers were set up for viewers to watch via the Spanish-language TV channel Telemundo Deportes.

The crowd went wild when France beat Croatia 4-2, and applause reached all the way to 60th Street, where a Bastille Day celebration was going on between Lexington and Fifth Avenues.

The French Institute Alliance Francaise screened the final match at the celebration and various French restaurants and bars also were packed with viewers.

Traffic delays are expected as fans celebrate France’s second ever World Cup title. The country previously won the title in 1998, after beating out Brazil.
