NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A violent attack took place in Williamsburg as four men were seen in surveillance footage attacking a Jewish resident Tuesday night.

Former New York Assemblyman Dov Hikind posted a video on his Twitter account which showed four suspects following and then attacking the man, who tried to fight off his assailants before fleeing with the men in tow.

The attack took place on Warsoff Place between Flushing and Park Avenues at about 9:30 p.m. while the 24-year-old victim was walking home.

Hikind said in a statement late Tuesday night, “Another day, another brutal and vicious attack on a Hasidic Jew in Brooklyn. We don’t need more empty talk from city and state “leaders”. We need action! The NYPD should be stepping up patrols in all Jewish neighborhoods until this wave of violent antisemitism subsides.”

Officials said the attack is not currently being considered a hate crime since there were no anti-Semitic slurs uttered, and that it is instead being called a random attack and robbery.
