NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Four people including a child were shot and killed in Brooklyn on Wednesday morning.

It happened around 5 a.m. in the Riverdale Towers on Thatford Ave in Brownsville.

The victims include a 1-year-old girl, 16-year-old boy, 27-year-old man, and a 59-year-old man.

Deputy Police Chief Michael Kemper said the toddler's grandmother discovered the deaths. She had been out for the night and returned home to make the grisly discovery.

"The owner, a 53-year-old female, she resides at the location. She was out for the night, she came home, she made the discovery, and she called 911," he said.

The 1-year-old girl and the 27-year-old girl, her father were found dead in a bedroom. The 16-year-old was found dead in another bedroom, his 59-year-old father was found dead in the bathroom.

People in the neighborhood called the 59-year-old man 'Big Daddy.'

Jose Valdez was a friend of Big Daddy, and said he was very well liked.

"He was a lovely man. I can say nothing negative about Big Daddy. Big Daddy was a man that was always doing barbeque, inviting people to the barbeque, having a drink," he said.

There was nobody in custody in connection with the deaths, and investigators are trying to determine if it was a triple murder-suicide. Police had been called to the scene many times in the past for domestic problems.
