NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A fire broke out at a high-rise in midtown on Sunday morning, sending thick plumes of smoke rising over Times Square buildings and forcing the evacuation of a hotel.

Citizen App video shows the smoke pouring out of the 12-story building at 145 West 45th St. It's adjacent to the Hyatt Times Square.

The fire erupted shortly after 7:30 a.m. in the ductwork of O’Lunney’s Restaurant and Bar, according to officials. The FDNY said it took firefighters about an hour to get it under control.

Three people are said to have suffered minor injuries, including one person who had exhaustion.

The building is mixed use commercial building with apartments, according to the New York Times. Guests at the neighboring Hyatt Times Square hotel had to evacuate the building, some of them walking down dozens of flights because of the smoke condition.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
