'Fast & The Furious' Star Jordana Brewster Talks Return To Franchise, Potential Spin-Off with Michelle Rodriguez

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The Fast and the Furious franchise is used to having Vin Diesel in the driver's seat, but star Jordana Brewster thinks it could be time for the ladies to take the wheel.

"I'd love to see the girls band together a little bit," Brewster told 1010 WINS. "I think that would be really fun. I'm not saying there should be a completely different spin on the movie but I think it would be fun to see Letty and Mia just go off and try to figure something out. Just to have a little bit of a different flavor there, that would be exciting."

Michelle Rodriguez, who plays Letty Ortiz, took to Instagram last year to announce she's prepared to leave the franchise due to its lack of strong female voices in the series.

"F8 is out digitally today," she wrote in the caption of her Instagram photo. "I hope they decide to show some love to the women of the franchise on the next one or I just might have to say goodbye to a loved franchise. It's been a good ride & I'm grateful for the opportunity the fans & studio have provided over the years ... One Love."

The franchise will get that opportunity soon as they're revving-up the engines once again with a new release planned for 2020, something Brewster can't wait to start filming.

"It'll be exciting," Brewster said of her upcoming role. "It comes out in 2020 and there's no script, there's nothing. I have no details and I'm dying for them as is everyone, so we'll see."

With the studio already planning a spin-off for male stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Jason Statham, would Jordana be open to a stand-alone flick?

"Yeah, or within the movie. I'm always trying to brainstorm in terms of what would be new and fun and exciting, and also set a really good example for all the girls out there."
Last year, The Fast and the Furious Franchise topped a billion dollars at the box office with its eighth installment "The Fate of Furious." But despite all its success, Brewster was noticeably absent from the story. The plot took her character away from the road to raise her newborn child.

In real life, she's a busy mother of two who manages to keep her family and her beauty regimen on track.

That's why Jordan has partnered with Zyrtec. For Jordana, allergies are a year-round challenge. Whether she’s on set or trying to exercise outdoors, her allergies can be really disruptive to her personal and professional life.

"They're seasonal, but then LA doesn't really have seasons," Brewster said of her lingering allergies. "I just take it once a day and that way I like cut off the symptoms and that way it doesn't get worse."
