FDNY Pension Boss Steve Cassidy Charged With DWI After Car Jumps Curb In Manhattan

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Former firefighters' union president Steve Cassidy was arrested on DWI charges Tuesday night after police say he lost control of his vehicle, which ran up onto a Manhattan curb, hitting a dumpster and a building.

Lucklily no one was hurt.

It happened around midnight at 7th Avenue and 30th Street.

Cassidy, 62, was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, believed to be cocaine.

Fire commissioner Daniel Nigro says he has removed cassidy from his position as executive director of the FDNY pension fund.
