Fall nor'easter brings strong winds, downpours

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A fall nor'easter is producing strong winds that will continue to strengthen and bring heavy rain by Thursday afternoon.

Wind gusts may be as strong as 40 mph on eastern Long Island.

Periods of rain will continue with windy and chilly temperatures.

Wind gusts could be as strong as 35 mph in the city, and up to 50 mph on eastern Long Island.

The high will be near 60.

Friday will be windy and cool with a couple of showers and a high of 62, before the weather clears Saturday and Sunday.
