Elderly man struck and killed on Northern Boulevard in Queens

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- An elderly man was hit and killed by a vehicle on Northern Boulevard in Queens early Sunday.

Police said the incident happened just after 5 a.m. in Flushing. A 70-year-old man was found unconscious, with trauma to his head and body, in the street on Northern Boulevard, near 108th Street.

EMS responded and then man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His identity was not immediately released.

An investigation found the man was hit by a Toyota Highlander that was traveling eastbound on the road.

The 40-year-old female driver remained at the scene. No arrests have been made yet.

The NYPD’s Highway Collision division will continue the investigation.
