Off-Duty Firefighter Saves Family From Queens Blaze

March 16, 2018 - 9:29 am

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- It's safe to assume that a grandmother and two children would have died in a fire in Queens on Thursday, were it not for off-duty firefighter Roben Duge.

He was on his way home in Jamaica, Thursday, when he saw thick smoke pouring out of a house. He burst in, and dragged the woman and two kids to safety.

1010 WINS reported, the fire was accidentally started in the basement by one of the kids and he was too afraid to tell his grandmother until it was too late.
