Driver who slammed into Chelsea storefronts, injuring 4, arrested

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The driver of an SUV who slammed into a pair of Chelsea storefronts Monday, injuring four people, has been arrested.

Amir Saleemi, 43, of New Jersey was driving with a suspended license when he lost control of his Lincoln Navigator, crashing into a T-Mobile store and a Korean barbecue restaurant on Sixth Avenue near 17th Street. Saleemi, a livery driver, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation

The incident happened shortly after 2:30 p.m. Monday, and involved two vehicles. 

Two of the injured were in one of the vehicles, and the other two had been on the sidewalk.

All of the injured suffered minor injuries. One of the individuals suffered a cardiac arrest.
