NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- What a dummy!

A motorist was stopped by the NYPD Highway Patrol this week and issued a summons for driving in the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane -- aka the carpool lane -- with a dummy in the back seat, in an attempt to dodge the rules of the road, the NYPD Highway Patrol said Thursday.

The driver, from New Jersey, was busted on the Gowanus near the Verrazano Bridge.

The dummy drew suspicion because it appeared overly-dressed, given the near-90 temperature.
