Dozens of NJ Democrats back Cory Booker for president

NEWARK (1010 WINS) – New Jersey's Democratic politicians are lining up to support Sen. Corey Booker’s run for president.

Fellow Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez and all 11 Democratic house members are backing Booker's quest for the White House, as are Gov. Phil Murphy and Newark Mayor Ras Baraka.

According to NJ.com, more than four dozen prominent Democrats endorsed Booker Thursday.

Congressman Frank Pallone says Booker will “bring Americans together. He is what we need to move our country forward from the divisive policies of Donald Trump.”

Booker also has the support of Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver, Senate President Stephen Sweeney and Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin, as well as all four Democratic county executives.

Booker is among a growing list of Democrats vying to face Trump in 2020.

New Jersey's primary is on June 2, 2020.
