DOT Worker Fatally Struck By Car On The Hutchinson River Parkway

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A New York City Transportation Department worker was struck and killed by a car in the Bronx this morning.

It happened just off the southbound Hutchinson River parkway near Exit 4N

The DOT told 1010 WINS the worker was identified as 57-year-old George Stab from Shirley, Long Island.

He was standing on the grass when a driver lost control and struck him. Stab was later found unconscious with trauma to the head.

The driver remained at the scene and was later taken to Jacobi Medical Center with minor injuries. The driver was not facing charges as of Wednesday afternoon.
