Dog walker, 2 officers viciously mauled by Pit Bull in Manhattan

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A Pit Bull viciously attacked its dog walker during a walk early Sunday morning in Manhattan, officials say.

Just before 10 a.m., two officers were driving near Lenox Avenue and 111th street in Harlem when they spotted a woman being attacked by a pit bull.

The officers ran to help her and separate the woman from the dog.

As the officers attempted to pull the woman away, the dog everntually turned on the Emergency Service Unit.

The dog was taken to a pound in the area.

The dog walker and both officers were transported to St Luke's Hospital, where they were treated for bites and scratches.
